Tree care advice from a professional arborist
Our tree care advice will help you keep your trees healthy. Looking after your trees takes a little bit of work. Recent extreme weather events have demonstrated to us all how important trees are to our eco-system so we are here to help you preserve them. As experts in tree care we can advise you on the basic elements of tree management on your property, but always seek specialist advice if you are not sure. Trees take a long time to grow, we need to look after them if we are going to conserve these natural resources.
Choose the right trees for your location. Choose native species and make sure you plant them in the right spot, ensuring sufficient light and drainage.
Water & mulch. It’s obvious that newly planted trees are going to need a lot of water, but don’t forget your established ones. Even mature trees will need water when there has been a long dry period. Mulch your trees to insulate the roots, protect them from mower damage and to help retain moisture in the soil. Mulching with natural materials also provides nutrients for the trees.
Regular maintenance. You need a regular maintenance regime to keep your trees safe and healthy. That means regularly inspecting your trees for signs of weakness, damage or disease, and pruning them to remove any deadwood or damaged branches. Some signs of disease or infestation can be hard to spot, so if in doubt book an annual tree inspection. Prevention is better than cure.
